GLOBExCHANGE

In late February, 2023, North American climate leaders came together at GLOBExCHANGE in Toronto, Canada. At this 3-day conference they collaborated on net-zero solutions for their organizations, the economy, and our planet. GLOBExCHANGE is the evolution of GLOBE Capital and the next instalment in the Destination Net Zero Event Series. This intersection of brands brought together the urgency and future thinking look and feel of the Destination Net Zero Event Series with the refinement and business forward profile of GLOBE Capital.

The fundamental principles guiding GLOBExCHANGE embraced the imperative for speed, teamwork, and the tangible exchange that is essential. As I envisioned the look and feel, my goal was to evoke a visceral response, instilling an immediate sense of urgency. Aligned with the tagline— “Let’s win the race to net zero”—the relay race metaphor seamlessly integrated into the narrative. Exploring the rich possibilities within the tagline, I crafted visual assets that spoke to climate and sustainability incorporating elements from relay racing. I created custom imagery, employing a provocative colour palette and established solid brand guidelines. The primary challenge was to strike the right balance between the race metaphor while maintaining a high level of sophistication that flowed seamlessly across all mediums and platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Shape the visual identity, conceive the event logo and theme icons, set the brand standards, spearhead the creative direction for all print, social media, digital and environmental signage, motion graphics, and marketing collateral. In addition to coordinating with internal and external event staff and vendors, ensuring a cohesive and impactful presence across all facets of the event experience.
